Start your own bonsai – Juniper procumbens nana with pot and accessories.
We had many requests for a bonsai kit that include a tree as well as the necessary items to make your own complete bonsai from scratch.
The items in the kit will not make you a bonsai expert, its not a bonsai and will only become a bonsai when shaped and styled by you. It include most of the basics create your own bonsai.
This kit includes a small starter tree
Include:
1 x Juniper procumbens nana (Bag stock – not styled)
1 x 8 inch ceramic bonsai pot (roughly 21 cm)
1 x bag of soil (more than enough for the pot included)
2 x drainage netting with wire butterfly (to cover drainage holes so that soil do not fall through)
1 x bag of gravel (to cover the soil to prevent soil washing away)
1 x Name Tag (write the name, age and date potted on the tag with a pencil)
1 x Roll of wire to tie the tree down in the pot
1 x roll of 2mm wire to style tree
1 x Instructions
In addition you will need:
Pruning scissors
A larger variety of size/thickness of wire
Space to work and make a mess
And most important, have fun

Please note. You can style the tree to your liking any time of the year but the bonsai can only be repotted from July till September.
The tree in the photo supplied is only for illustration purposes. Trees send with the order will differ but be more or less the same size.
Juniper procumbens nana is a good type of tree to practice bonsai on. Should you have no experience with styling bonsai please ask a local bonsai nursery or club for assistance.
There’s many different methods to style and design bonsai and its not possible to teach the basic skills through this medium. There’s lots of video’s on you tube showing how to style bonsai.
The instruction leaflet included is a very basic description of repotting of a bonsai.
