Different workshops will be held during the year.  These workshops will be held by different bonsai artist and will cover different subjects regarding bonsai.  Bookings are essential as the size of the group will be restricted to allow good communication between the group and the lecturer.

These workshops will consentrate more on the practical part of the subject, since there is more than enough on the subject written on the internet.  References to bonsai websites and related articles will be supplied. 

Workshops can also be a good team building experience and also make a great gift.

25 February 2012 - 14:00 till 17:00 - Wood carving workshop - R100 (include safety glasses) - Len Redfern and Russ Smal  -   During the workshop the group will discuss woodcarving on bonsai to improve deadwood as well as "problem" trees.  The group will have access to tools supplied by the lecturer and nursery and will have the opportunity to try out these tools and receive guidance regarding the use of the tools and the tool's purpose.  The purpose of the workshop will be to introduce the group to the different tools used to work on deadwood and not to work on trees.  There will be an opportunity to discuss trees with the lecturers.
